My journey through Java began in Yogyakarta, visiting the stunning Prambanan Temple. Driving along the dramatic Ketep Pass between Mount Merapi and Mount Merbabu was unforgettable. The pass is known for its panoramic views of both volcanoes while passing local villages with bustling markets. A true highlight of the trip was my stay at the MesaStila Resort (about an hour north of Magelang) – a serene haven surrounded by jungle and coffee plantations. I want to recommend this resort to anyone planning a visit to Central Java, especially for coffee lovers. I ended the trip with a bike tour through the countryside, pedaling past rice fields and smiling locals. Java surprised me with its beauty and incredible cultural depth.
