Traditions & Beliefs | Dhamma Sek Kya Day

Dhamma Sek Kya Day” is a robe offering ceremony which takes place today in Myanmar as a part of Buddhist Lent.

Locals offer robes to the monks who are expected to stay in the monastery for three months of religious contemplation. Food and other necessities are also given to the monks.  Myanmar is also known for having ornate rituals for young boys who are entering the monkhood for a short period of time.
