Laos - Luang Nam Tha Valley - rice paddy
 

Luang Nam Tha is a lush forested province in the North West of Laos. The province and its eponymous capital are gaining a reputation for eco-tourism and adventure travel; activities include trekking, kayaking, rafting and mountain-biking.

The Nam Ha National Biodiversity Conservation Area may also be found in Luang Nam Tha. This protected area boasts over 300 birds as well as clouded leopards, Asian elephants, gaur (wild oxen) and the rare black-cheeked crested gibbon.
