Thailand - Kanchanaburi - Erawan Falls - 800x450

Kanchanaburi is a green haven of mountains, fields, rivers and waterfalls

The province of Kanchanaburi is a green haven of densely-forested mountains, verdant sugarcane fields, rushing rivers and frothing waterfalls.  Hiking, canoeing and kayaking are just some of the activities available here while there are also some dramatic WWII sights.
The provincial capital Kanchanaburi is just 2-3 hours’ drive from Bangkok and is most famously the location of the Bridge over the River Kwai.  A quiet walk across the bridge can be evocative while the nearby Thailand-Burma Railway Centre uses video, models, photographs and extensive displays to depict the notorious building of this railway.
