We asked our staff for their ‘Bucket List’ – what have they always planned to do and where would they like to go on their ultimate adventure in 2014?
Bettina Grünenberg-Joseph – Managing Director, Munich said this:
“To have 800 islands – all to myself. To sail around Myanmar’s Mergui Archipelago on a luxury yacht would be my ultimate dream. The archipelago consists of more than 800 islands and is one of the few island regions in Asia that remains virtually untouched. I would like to be one of the first to visit this paradise onboard Burma Boating’s luxury teak sailing yacht, Meta IV. And best of all: with just four guest cabins onboard, I could have this entire experience virtually all to myself.
The area is inhabited by the Moken, or Sea Gypsies, an ethnic minority group that leads a semi-nomadic lifestyle, dominated by diving in the sea for cucumbers, fishing, and bartering.

During the day I would lie on white beaches lined with palm trees and dense jungle and swim in azure water amongst colourful reef fish, spotting corals, and collecting seashells. There are caves to be explored, hidden coves to be discovered and jungles to be hiked – or perhaps I would just lie on the deck, sundowner in hand watching the dolphins!
In the evening the yacht arranges delicious dinners on board with fresh seafood just caught, or starlit barbeques on deserted beaches.”
