Kalaw Rafting and Local Culture
Experience the serenity, nature and stunning scenery from the water on this full day rafting adventure.
In the morning, you will be collected from your hotel and taken on a 45-minute drive to the small town of Ti Kyit, the start of your rafting experience.
Upon arrival, you will be given the necessary equipment including a lifejacket. After a safety briefing from the instructors, it is time to head to the stream and climb into the raft. Paddle along the calm waters of the scenic meandering creek. Pass under craggy mountains and navigate your way around twisted tree roots. You may even pass by villagers from nearby hamlets who come to the stream to wash their clothes. Keep a lookout for insects and birds that make the water and riverbanks their home.
After about two hours on the water, go ashore and take a short trek through tranquil farmland to Pa Oh Monastery. Sit down and relax with a well-deserved lunch of traditional Shan food. If you wish, spend some time walking around the village to see the lifestyle of the Pa Oh people before returning to your hotel by vehicle.
