Cochin Cooking Class
Around midday transfer to the location of the cooking class. The professional chef will demonstrate how typical Keralan dishes are prepared, and then it’s your turn to try your hand at cooking up the delicious dishes.
Due to the Portuguese, Dutch and Hindu influences, Cochin cuisine has many flavours and tastes. It is a spicy exotic mix in which seafood always has pride of place.
The menu consists of local specialties such as fried anchovies and masala grilled prawns. You will also learn how to make Kerala Meen Roast: marinated fish cooked with fresh ginger, green chilli and tomato; and Prawn Molly, a traditional Keralan curry with fresh prawns and coconut milk.
The class ends with a delicious meal where you get to enjoy your own Cochin cooking. Your lunch will be accompanied by rice, vegetables, lentils and pickles. Dessert will be Paladapayasam, a Keralan sweet dish made with rice flakes and sweetened milk.
