Tour Overview

Farmers come from all over the country to sell their farm products in the Centenary Farmer’s Market. The ground floor of the two-storey open air building is for imported goods, while the top floor is reserved for local organic produce, fresh from the farms.
Walk through the stalls stopping to chat with the local vendors and learn about the type of foods the Bhutanese eat. Look out for dried cheese, a popular snack, and piles of fiery red chillies that add a kick to many local dishes.
During weekends, cross the cantilever footbridge bridge on the west bank to the handicraft market. Products include wooden bowls, mala beads, printing blocks, amulets, yak tails and prayer wheels.
