Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau

Travel to Hoa Binh and Mai Chau provinces, the start of the northwest highlands and home to many different ethnic minorities. Stop at the traditional village of Giang Mo where wooden stilt houses are nestled among rice paddies with a backdrop of picturesque hills. Visit the Muong Museum and then continue along scenic roads to Mai Chau province and visit Lac Village, inhabited mainly by White Thai.

Visit Buoc village which is one of the most beautiful White Thai ethnic villages. The village maintains a traditional and typical life specific to the ethnic White Thai minority. Enjoy walking around the village then drive back Mai Chau. Explore Lac & Pomcoong villages to experience more features of White Thai minority. Enjoy a traditional dance performance.

Day 2: Mai Chau

In the morning, drive to Hang Kia, passing villages of Muong and Dzao tribal groups. Stop on the way to visit Pa Co and Xa Linh communes, home to H’mong people with their interesting ethnic market (every Sunday morning in Xa Linh). Arrive in Hang Kia, a typical H’mong village, peacefully nestled in a small valley at 1200m altitude.
