An Islander Experience on Koh Yao Noi
Take a catamaran cruise through dramatic seascapes to a laidback island that has changed little over the years.
In the morning, transfer to the pier where a light breakfast will be waiting for you. After boarding, sit back and relax while the catamaran cruises towards the island of Koh Yao Noi and the towering karst islands of Phang Nga Bay.
On arrival at Koh Yao Noi climb into a ‘potong’, a type of open-sided local transport that has been in use for about 100 years. Driving through the island is like taking a journey back in time. Here, the island’s indigenous people live a simple life that still follows the ancient customs and traditions. Pass through villages of wooden houses and lush fields where farmers work alongside water buffalo.
Explore Ruen Rim Rai, a garden initiated by King Rama IX. After a buffet lunch relax for a while on a terrace overlooking the sea and the limestone rock islands of Phang Nga Bay. While there, why not try your hand at making some delicious, traditional Thai desserts.
Once your lunch has settled, hop onto a bicycle. Breathe in the fresh sea air as you cycle through a pine tree tunnel surrounded by green rice fields leading to the sea. Visit a floating fishing farm to learn about life lived on the sea.
Then it’s back onto the catamaran for the cruise over to Koh Nok. Spend some time relaxing and swimming on the island before returning to the marina in Phuket and transferring to your hotel.
