Diving to Pemuteran Underwater Temple

Tour Overview

Early morning set off to Pemuteran, in the northwest of the island. This laid-back coastal village has become popular with visitors due to its waterfront resorts and the extreme natural beauty of the surrounding area – both inland and at sea.

It is also home to the largest artificial biorock reef project, a marine conservation effort that is not only extremely effective but is also creating unusual and beautiful underwater art.
On arrival get yourself prepared for a diving trip to the Underwater Temple, which is a project initiated locally as an addition to a reef conservation project funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAid).

The temple is located at depths of about 15 metres and 29 metres. Marine life has made the temple its home, creating a magical manmade reef garden. You’ll be treated to a myriad of fish and maybe even turtles swimming among the stone statues of Buddha set behind an ornate gateway.

Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
