Elephant Valley Experience – FD

Spend a day volunteering at an elephant sanctuary and make a difference in the life of the elephants.

Transfer in local style, by private air-conditioned vehicle, from the hotel to the elephant sanctuary. Covering 40 acres of land, the sanctuary is home to elephants that used to work in tourism or in the timber industry. Here, they have been given back their independence and are able to just be elephants. They spend their days relaxing, playing, grazing on grass, drinking water, breaking down bamboo and covering themselves in mud. There are no elephant tricks or elephant rides, instead you will see happy elephants living undisturbed in their natural environment.

Join in with an assortment of activities and projects such as planting, growing and preparing food for the elephants. Or you may be asked to lend a hand with the latest construction projects. Whatever you do, you can be assured that you will be helping to make the sanctuary an even better place for the elephants.

Be prepared to get sweaty and dirty, so bring a long sleeved shirt, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent and a spare water bottle. If you do start to tire, then it’s no problem to stop, relax and go back to watching the elephants.
