Description
Hidden Trail to Red Dao Village
Day 1: Sa Pa – Local Village
Start your day with a visit to the Mong Sen Bridge, making several stops along the way to enjoy spectacular landscapes. Trek uphill along trails – both large and narrow – winding their way along steep hillsides on the western bank of the Ngoi Dum River. Reach the isolated hamlets of the Black Hmong, and take time to explore before your lunch break.
Continue trekking along the same trail – up and downhill – towards Ta Phin Valley and arrive at the center of Ta Phin Commune in mid afternoon. Take a walk around this stunning valley, paying a visit to some Red Dzao families.
Stay overnight in a homestay at Ta Phin Village of the Red Dzao.
Day 2:
After breakfast, walk through the Ta Phin to several hamlets of the Hmong scattered on hillsides.
Continue to Ma Cha – another village of the Hmong – and then trek through the Ma Cha Valley. This valley is close to the Sapa town, but is very quiet and the people here are still living their own way without the influence of tourism.
After lunch, the trail leads through the Suoi Ho Valley featuring narrow, terraced paddies, pine plantations, and fruit and vegetable gardens.
Return to Sapa in the afternoon, and enjoy a leisure walk through the newly developed area of the town and end your trek at your hotel.
