Get an insider’s perspective into Yangon as we skip the standard sightseeing, and instead, hit the streets using a variety of transport to go where the locals go.

In the morning meet your guide and take a taxi to Yangon’s Central Railway Station. From here, take a train ride on the Circular Railway to Kamayut station. As the train rumbles along the bumpy track look out onto the passing landscape and enjoy the commotion at each station as the food hawkers hop on and off.

Climb into a trishaw to a local market to select your own traditional longyi! Stop for a cup of tea and a snack with the locals at one of Yangon’s countless teashops.

Now hop onto a local bus. Be prepared to stand as the buses are often very crowded – a good opportunity to rub shoulders with the commuters and have a quick chat.

The next stop is at a local restaurant to try a variety of choice of local food.

Walk off your meal during a stroll to a nearby massage salon for a well-deserved rejuvenating foot massage. If time permits, take a short walk around the neighborhood of Sanchaung – an up and coming area that is teeming with life as it undergoes rapid changes and development.

From here, take a taxi to Kandawgyi Park, one of the best picnic areas in Yangon. Enjoy the tranquil surroundings and join the city’s residents for a drink in a cafe overlooking the lake.

Afterwards your guide will take you to your hotel by taxi.
