Travel deep into the Cambodian countryside and experience a monk’s blessing, a cruise across an ancient lake and dinner at a private residence.
In the afternoon leave Siem Reap behind as you drive out to a village near the impressive Western Baray. This vast and imposing man-made lake is the largest structure made by the ancient Khmers and covers an astonishing 16 square kilometres.
Here you will be met by a local monk who will perform a traditional Buddhist blessing.
Then board a private boat for a relaxing cruise across the serene lake. Sit back and enjoy the stillness of the water and the sounds of the birds. You will arrive at a small village where you can enjoy a welcome drink and then trek into the Cambodian countryside.
At the end of a long, unpaved track that cuts through the rice fields is a beautiful private residence – your restaurant for the evening. As the chef prepares your dinner, sip glasses of Prosecco, watch the sunset or wander across the rice paddies to see the fish traps and the views. A dinner of delicious Cambodian dishes, is served to the background sounds of local musicians playing traditional Khmer music.
